On March 18 we held our webinar on "Key themes to watch for private markets investors", featuring Jean-Baptiste Berthon, Cross Asset Strategist, Amundi Investment Institute, Guy Lodewyckx, Head of Private Markets Multi-Manager, Amundi Alternative and Real Assets, and AdĂ©laĂŻde de Casson, Head of Business Development and Coordination, Amundi Alternative and Real Assets.

Our experts explored the macroeconomic trends expected to shape private assets, the main factors driving demand for the asset class, and the effects of liquidity engineering on the sector.

They discussed the risks and opportunities across private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate, highlighting the investment themes to watch in the months ahead.

Key convictions

1. While greater selectivity is needed, private assets remain a powerful diversification tool

2. Infrastructure is our high conviction theme with strong tailwinds – digitalization, renewables, energy security.

3. Private equity is gradually recovering - cheaper valuations, improving deal activity, and continued operational value creation.

4. Private debt remains a core allocation; recent issues are manageable and should ultimately set a cleaner path.

5. Real estate is selectively bottoming up and most of the repricing is likely behind us.
